This course provides the Firefighter I to become more knowledgeable in fire fighting techniques. In addition to standard fire fighting I duties, the student will learn to create fire intervention plans, conduct vehicle extraction, coordinate multiple emergency response teams and even combat wildfires. Firefighter II’s are also the first responders to fires where hazardous materials are involved.
Classes are held at Station 94, Snohomish County Fire District #19, 2720 212th St. NW, Stanwood, WA 98292.
Program objective: To meet the standards for Washington State Firefighter II Certification. Upon successful completion of this 2 week program, attendees will receive a FIREFIGHTER II certificate of completion. This qualifies the student to take the Washington State Exam for Firefighter II Certification, provided Firefighter I Certification has been attained.
Method of instruction: Program will be completed onsite in the classroom. Courses are comprised of lecture and lab instruction. Some online coursework is also required, which is performed offsite.
Prerequisites: Must have a IFSAC Firefighter I certificate.
